For Collin Manning's senior year, it appears to be all about time. Early in the month, he earned the nickname Justin Time... refer to Runner of the Week 10/18/2015. This time it was the best time for 5,000 meters as it was the last time he will dawn a Panther XC uniform. Collin earned the honors of being the sole Panther to run a Personal Record on the sloppy District meet course. Being the last race of the day, that contributed to making the course conditions the worst of the day. We were happy with Collin's League Meet performance the week before as he busted 18 minutes for the very first time, but we were ecstatic with his 17:32 and 28th place finish to wind up his Panther XC career. With that finish, hopefully he will consider a collegiate career next year.
Four wonderful seasons of Panther XC have just wrapped up for Meredith Collins. She has had some wonderful races and comes on strong at the end of the season every single year! This year was no exception. Her freshman year, she found an unexpected fabulous kick at the state meet the last 400 meters to narrowly capture the Freshman Record for her last race. This year, she pulled off a similar feat with her feets for her last race as a senior. With 300 meters to go, there were 4 girls just a head of her. The coaching staff told her to get all four. She did, quite possibly a result of her visualization "Super Hero" model for the meet being the Flash! Thus Meredith showed us a "Flash from the Past" to wrap up her fine Panther XC career!
