Isaac Harvey

The Tougher the Course, the Tougher He Runs

Isaac Harvey

In his first Cross Country season, Isaac Harvey is starting to make an impact on the Panther XC program, and loving every minute of it. The Finn Hill 5000 course has been the toughest course he has run on all year, and it was his best race. During this race, he has moved up into the top few of our Future Varsity runners on the team and was the lone Panther boy to run a Black Course PR. His time of 22:09.6 is over 6 seconds faster than his time on our home course a couple of weeks prior. This effort was an impressive effort and is a foreshadowing of great things to come from Isaac over the next few years. We always enjoy young talented runners transferring into our school and impacting the program.

Courtney Owens

"My First Medal...

Courtney Owens

But definitely not my last!" Courtney Owens is now hooked on XC. And the Panther XC fans are hooked on watching this young sensation improve through her first season of XC. At the Finn Hill 5000, Courtney looked like a veteran as she wound her way up through the pack of 83 runners, ultimately finishing in 6th place. Her effort of 22:02 is comparable to our current School Record had it been run on a fast "Orange course" rather than Alderbrook Park's very "Black Course". She has already smashed the Freshman Record and is well on her way to paste her name all through the record book at Washougal High. All of her teammates, coaches and Panther XC fans are truly glad she has joined us!
